Are Teller County Jail Mugshots Public Record?
Teller County's own records process is the strongest local evidence for booking-photo access. The Sheriff's records request form includes "Mugshots" as a selectable request category and lists a $5 fee per mugshot. Colorado law does not make every criminal justice record fully public without limits. Requests can be reviewed, redacted, denied, or delayed when a statute, child-record restriction, victim privacy rule, investigation concern, identity verification issue, or District Attorney approval requirement applies.

How Long a Mugshot Stays on the Roster

That supports a narrow statement: Teller County provides Booked Last 72hrs and Released Last 72hrs views. It does not support a broader claim that every mugshot disappears after a fixed time or that older booking photos remain searchable online. Active profiles can remain accessible while the person is in active custody, and historical photos may require a records request if they are legally releasable.
The Released Last 72hrs roster view is useful when a profile may have moved out of active custody very recently.
That recent-release view should be read as a short public roster category, not as a complete archive of all prior Teller County booking photos.
